Eligibility Criteria for WorkCover Physiotherapy Services

To be eligible for professional physiotherapy under a WorkCover claim, patients generally need to meet the following criteria:

01

Work-Related Injury:

Your injury or condition must have occurred during the course of your employment or be directly related to your work duties.

02

Current Medical Certificate:

You must have a valid Work Capacity Certificate (WCC) issued by your GP that specifically recommends physiotherapy.

03

Approved Claim:

You must have a current, approved claim number from WorkCover Queensland or your employer’s relevant self-insurance body.

Is traveling to or from work covered?

In Queensland, you may still be eligible for WorkCover even if your injury did not occur at your specific job site. This is known as a Journey Claim.Generally, you are covered for injuries sustained while traveling directly between your home and your workplace. For the claim to be accepted, the journey must be continuous without any significant delays or deviations for personal reasons (such as stopping for groceries). The injury must also occur after you have officially left your property boundary. If you have been injured during your commute, please ensure you discuss these details with your GP when requesting your referral to Pimpama Physiotherapy.
