The NDIS is there to help you live well with a disability. For many participants, that includes physiotherapy, to build strength, movement and independence.

At Pimpama Physiotherapy, we provide NDIS physiotherapy for participants across the Gold Coast, Logan and Brisbane. You can see us at our Pimpama clinic or through home visits. You do not need a referral, and your physio is funded through your NDIS plan.

We work with you, your family and your support team to turn your goals into real progress.
What Is NDIS Physiotherapy?
NDIS physiotherapy is physiotherapy funded through the National Disability Insurance Scheme. It helps people with a permanent and significant disability improve how they move and function day to day.

The NDIS supports more than 700,000 Australians with a disability and their families (NDIS). If you are a participant, physiotherapy can help you work towards your NDIS goals, whether that is walking further, moving more safely or taking part in daily life.

A physiotherapist can help you:
-
Improve strength, balance and mobility.
-
Manage pain and stiffness.
-
Build independence at home and in the community.
-
Prevent falls and secondary complications.
-
Reach the goals set out in your NDIS plan.

Which NDIS Budget Pays for Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is funded under Capacity Building, in the Improved Daily Living category of your plan. This is the part of your budget set aside for therapy and building skills.

One thing to know: Capacity Building funding is not flexible. Money set aside for Improved Daily Living can only be used for therapy and similar supports, not for other categories like transport or support coordination.

How you use your funding depends on how your plan is managed.
Plan-Managed And Self-Managed Participants
If your plan is plan-managed or self-managed, you have full choice of provider. You can see us at Pimpama Physiotherapy whether or not we are NDIS-registered.

Agency-Managed (NDIA-Managed) Participants
If your plan is agency-managed (also called NDIA-managed), you need to use an NDIS-registered provider. Get in touch and we can talk through your options.
Do You Need A Referral For NDIS Physiotherapy?
No. Unlike some other funding schemes, the NDIS does not require a GP referral for physiotherapy. You choose your own physiotherapist.

What you do need is an NDIS plan with funding for therapy (Improved Daily Living). If you have that, you can book straight in with us.
How Much Does Ndis Physiotherapy Cost?
For NDIS participants, physiotherapy is paid from your plan, not out of your pocket.

The NDIS sets a maximum price for physiotherapy in its Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. In 2025-26 the national price limit for physiotherapy is around $183.99 per hour (NDIS pricing). Your physiotherapist claims against your plan at or below that limit, so you have nothing to pay for your sessions.

The number of sessions you can have depends on the funding in your plan. We can help you make the most of it.

Conditions We Help With Through NDIS Physiotherapy
We support NDIS participants with a wide range of disabilities. Our team has a special interest in neurological and complex conditions. We regularly help participants living with:
01
Neurological conditions like stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury and motor neurone disease.
02
Physical and mobility disabilities including balance and gait problems, falls risk and reduced independence.
03
Developmental conditions
like Down syndrome, autism and intellectual disability.
04
Musculoskeletal and chronic pain conditions that affect daily function.
If your disability affects how you move or manage daily life, neurological physiotherapy and rehabilitation may help.
